The spirit of Madiba touched all who attended our Mandela Day event at Tiitseto Bekezela Primary on 18 July. From the learners reciting the Constitution, the mini gum-boot dancers, the heartfelt speeches, the laughter, the singing and the dancing, it was a day that will never be forgotten.

The WBS Sustainability Committee, chaired by Mr Setumo Llale, worked hard with our partners at the Gauteng Department of Education to make this event the resounding success it was. This is the day WBS donated a total of 143 assets to six schools in the disadvantaged area of Kanana Park, south of Johannesburg. The assets included 17 laptops and 36 desktops and furniture such as chairs, tables and filing cabinets.

We were overwhelmed by the gratitude expressed by the teachers, learners, and principals of the schools and thrilled to be able give back to our community.
