Wits Business School (WBS), in partnership with Investec Bank and Wits Machine Intelligence and Neural Discovery (MIND) Institute, invites applications for the prestigious Investec Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Business Transformation. Building on WBS’s 50-year legacy as Africa’s leading, internationally accredited business school, the Chair offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of responsible AI in business. Situated in Johannesburg, South Africa’s economic hub, WBS brings together a diverse faculty and a vibrant postgraduate and executive education community to actively contribute to scholarly and applied thought leadership in business, policy, and society.

The Chair will spearhead cutting-edge research into AI foundations, ethics, and applications for sustainable business, while embedding AI into academic programmes to equip future leaders. In partnership with industry, the Chair will develop case studies, courses, and solutions that address real-world sustainability challenges, and contribute to the pioneering Wits Machine Intelligence and Neural Discovery (MIND) Institute, Africa’s first dedicated research hub on natural and artificial intelligence. This is a high-impact platform for an exceptional scholar and thought leader to advance AI knowledge, build AI talent, impact on the UN SDGs, and position WBS at the forefront of AI-driven business transformation in Africa and beyond.
