Biography

Dr Bhana (PhD, Professional Accountant (SA), MBA) has had a distinguished academic career with over 23 years of experience in higher education, having served in various roles, from lecturer, acting Head of Department (HoD), to senior lecturer across public institutions. She was a recipient of National Research Foundation (NRF) scholarships, is an accomplished editor and author of the following books “Financial Literacy for the 21st Century Generation: An Accounting and Personal Finance Perspective, 1st Edition” by VS Publishers, and “Core Principles of Accounting, 1st Edition” by Juta & Co. She has also published extensively, with seven DHET accredited articles from her PhD on Ethical Leadership, alongside other publications and conference proceedings.  Her research and teaching cuts across the disciplines of financial accounting (IFRS-based), Strategy, Corporate Governance, Applied ethics, Leadership, 4IR, SMEs, and Entrepreneurship education. She is also an EDHE member who was recognised for her impact by the South African Women in Entrepreneurship Education in the 2023 Women's Report, for her efforts in advancing entrepreneurship research in the accounting discipline.
