Insights on the Current Political and Economic Situation in Zimbabwe

Wits Business School is pleased to invite you to a public lecture by Zimbabwean politician, academic and author of the trilogy In Search of the Elusive Zimbabwean Dream: An Autobiography of Thought Leadership, Professor Arthur Mutambara.

Professor Mutambara, a former Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, will draw on the second book in his trilogy, The Path to Power, in which he describes his experiences of the build up to the disputed 2008 elections and the chaotic aftermath. It documents his return to Zimbabwean politics and his involvement in the Global Political Agreement (GPA) which was intended to end the violence and human rights violations in Zimbabwe. He reflects too on what has gone wrong since the dramatic removal of Robert Mugabe in November 2017.

Don’t miss this fascinating lecture on recent Zimbabwean history which will include:

  • The nature of the Zimbabwe crisis
  • Lessons from recent history
  • The way forward for Zimbabwe

Professor Mills Soko, Professor of International Business and Strategy at WBS, will facilitate the evening.
