Title: The Governance of Global Trade in the Evolving New World Order

This lecture will examine the governance of world trade in the emerging new global order, characterised among others by the rise of ‘Trumpism’ in the United States, the advent of Brexit, the rise of right-wing populism in Europe as well as the collapse of the multilateral, rules-based trade regime. It will argue that politics and ideology have a significant impact on the structure of global trade and on how policymakers approach governance.
