Breakfast Panel Discussion: The 2017 Budget Speech: Analysis and Insights
In the wake of the largest revenue shortfall in recent years, South Africans will be sitting up and taking note as Minister Pravin Gordhan delivers his 2017 budget speech on 22 February. This time last year, Minister Gordhan announced that the country needed to raise R30 billion over the next two years. In October, he revised this figure to R43 billion. How will he propose to do this? And what further announcements can we expect this Wednesday?
Please join us at a breakfast panel discussion the morning after the budget speech as our invited panellists dissect the annual budget and its implications for all South Africans in 2017.
Our speakers include:
- Lumkile Mondi – Senior Lecturer, Wits School of Economic and Business Sciences
- Lesiba Mothata – Chief Economist, Investments Solutions
- Kyle Mandy – Partner and Head of National Tax Technical at PwC South Africa
