Empowering Deaf People: WBS Case Centre publishes new case study on eDEAF

Wits Business School’s Case Centre, which publishes on average 12 new case studies a year, has just released its first case for 2025 titled eDEAF: A Social Enterprise Empowering Deaf People.

The case considers the remarkable growth of the company from two people in a tiny office to several offices across South Africa. It follows the journey of CEO Nazereen Captieux-Bhana, a deaf person herself who is also a television presenter, mentor, motivational speaker and passionate advocate for the rights of deaf people.
Written by Dr Rob Venter, lecturer at Wits and part-time lecturer at WBS and seasoned case writer Angie Urban, the case study asks:
- How can we ensure sustainable progress in Deaf skills development?
- How can businesses and communities continue to break down barriers and create truly inclusive workplaces?
eDEAF: A Social Enterprise Empowering Deaf People is relevant to any organisation serious about inclusivity in the workplace. It provides compelling reading for executives, practitioners, lecturers and students in the fields of human resource management, organisational development, social development, sustainability and social entrepreneurship.
