
Prof Ignitia Motjolopane, an Associate Professor of Digital Business at the Witwatersrand Business School. She holds a PhD from Wits Business School and offers extensive experience in information systems and innovation management. She has shared her expertise through undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing on subjects like Advanced Database Systems, Research Methodology, Information Systems Development, and Artificial Intelligence. Her supervision of graduate and postgraduate students' research has further solidified her reputation. She has served as an Expert Evaluator for the European Union Innovation Council and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency, a testament to her international recognition in the field.
She is enthusiastic about bridging the gap between research and innovation and has published in peer-reviewed conferences, journals, and book chapters. She has published in areas that include strategic business-IT alignment, e-commerce, business model innovation, digital transformation, and the integration of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. She is a reviewer for several journals, including the South African Computer Journal (SACJ) and Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS). Her current research focuses on digital transformation, exploring digital business ecosystems, innovative business models, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence applications.
