Wits Business School warmly invites you to the next in our Leadership Dialogues in which Mills Soko, Professor of International Business and Strategy at WBS, will be in conversation with Lesetja Kganyago, Governor of the South African Reserve Bank.

The conversation will explore Governor Kganyago’s fascinating back story as well as unpack the role of the South African Reserve Bank.

How does the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee make its decisions? Does central bank independence really matter? What is the nature of the relationship between the Bank and credit rating agencies, and are criticisms levelled against these agencies justified?  How important is the relationship between the Bank and the Treasury?  How has central banking changed internationally, and what do these changes mean for the Bank?  What role has the Bank played in combatting the Covid-19 crisis, and has it been effective?

These are just some of the questions that the conversation will tackle.
