WBS student shares his experience of the MMENVC programme

The MMENVC is focused on high impact, systemic entrepreneurship and attempts to elevate the field, with its research intensive approach.

Open to all post-graduate students, the MMENVC provides a solid grounding in entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, with emphasis on both theoretical and practical applications as they relate to new venture creation. Learn the key concepts behind entrepreneurship, evolve your strategic, critical and analytical thinking, and take the first step towards ensuring your ongoing success as an entrepreneur.  The Masters in entrepreneurship is focused on creating and disseminating higher-level entrepreneurial knowledge and skills which translates into venture creation and research capacity building. The degree is purposefully structured in such a manner that entrepreneurship is at the core of learning and is not a peripheral issue or a popular management concept. A holistic and integrated curriculum with entrepreneurship at the epicentre allows students to complement their general education and develop entrepreneurial competencies and commitment. The degree is strongly research focused. As “good science is good conversation”, the purpose of this degree is to make the conversation both deeper and wider through research.

The MM in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation is a Part Time 24 Months programme. Classes are scheduled in late afternoons and evenings to accommodate students who have work obligations.

The first part of the programme is conducted from February 2023 to February 2024 and consists of 9 compulsory core modules. You will need to attend lectures two to three times during the week and a few on Saturday mornings. The second part of the programme is conducted from March 2024 to Dec 2024 and requires students to complete a high quality, rigorous supervised research report. You will need to work independently as well as with your supervisor as no classes are scheduled for this part of the programme.

The MM-ENVC did wonders for my confidence in executing my business ideas. I was challenged in every lecture to identify my capabilities and make use of my available resources to solve problems. The greatest part has been the invaluable lifelong friendships and business connections forged with my classmates and professors that I will forever be grateful for.
