Innovation for Development: frontiers of research, policy and practice

As a contribution to the innovation and development community, Wits University will organize, host and manage an international symposium, February 24-26, 2010 which provides a platform for knowledge exchange among academics, policy makers and the business community on the interaction among:

• the efforts of the academic innovation studies community to study research and innovation practice and policy and to mediate between them (‘research’) and as a cross-cutting them

* science, technology and innovation activities (‘practice’)
* public policies to support and enhance innovation activities (‘policy’)
* the relevance and impact of innovation on development

The organizers have designed the symposium in collaboration with universities, think-tanks and institutes active in science, technology and innovation policy and research with a focus on developing countries and Africa in particular.
