Wits Business School is launching some exciting upgrades to the MBA programme with effect from 2010. Based on extensive investigation into international trends in business education and into the requirements of the market, including workshops with employers of MBA graduates, alumni and current students, the Advisory Board and industry experts, we have updated and streamlined our MBA programme. The previous core courses have been consolidated, to lay the foundation for the electives and the research report, and we have added the important courses on International Business and Ethics, Sustainability and Corporate Governance, as well as adding Leadership to the programme. These were previously elective courses that have now been earmarked as critical for all MBA students to be exposed to.
The elective courses have been focused into 8 different streams, and the number of elective options increased to allow the MBA student greater flexibility in tailoring the MBA degree to suit individual requirements.
In response to the market requests, we have introduced a Saturday Part-time MBA, where students will attend lectures for two courses on Saturday mornings. In addition, all our programmes now commence in January: this will enable a Full-time student to complete all course-work in one year and a Part-time student in two years, with the Research report hand in early the following year, and a graduation in June.
We look forward to seeing you on our programme!

"It's been an eventful year. Personally, the last time I had a chance to take stock was when I was flying back to SA from Birmingham, a little apprehensive. I was questioning this decision to return to Africa and indeed this latest crackpot idea to further my education in business.
The mind was swimming with anxiety and I was seriously considering reneging. But then, as the project took on a life of it’s own, it soon became apparent, that there would be little time or space to worry too much."
